• Preserved and protected – a memory of Jimmy

Posted on January 18, 2013 by in Picture Framing

There were five kids in our Stewart family until February 2012, when my youngest brother Jimmy passed away from cancer. My heart hurt so deeply from this loss as he was not just my brother; he was my confidante and friend. Jimmy was an ardent artist and crafter and had decorated his kitchen wall with hand-sewn needlepoint pictures. After he passed, our parents gave each of the remaining Stewart kids two of these treasures. Jimmy’s needlepoint pictures were in simple, worn out frames, so I took them to Andy’s for reframing. Andy guided and made recommendations to me on materials and colors for the reframing project. Not only did Andy customize the framing of this heirloom art; he preserved and protected a memory of Jimmy. For this, I’ll always be grateful to Andy and his staff.
